PhD Project Description:
This Shall be a multi-disciplinary PhD in Environment and Well being. The worthwhile candidate will bear teaching in microbiology, epidemiology, environmental science and evaluation strategies. S/He’ll full a dissertation on understanding the destiny and transport pathways of verotoxigenic E. coli (VTEC) Inside the aquatic environment from level and diffuse contamination sources. On completion of the PhD the candidate Shall be uniquely licensed for a profession in microbiology and environmental health evaluation, with expertise To evaluation the complicated public health challenges that come up by way of the influence of human actions on our pure environment.
The PhD candidate Shall be based mostly Inside the Self-discipline of Bacteriology, School Of medicine, NUI Galway and Shall be supervised by Dr Liam Burke (Lecturer in Bacteriology, School Of medicine, NUI Galway) and Dr Jean O Dwyer (Deputy Head of Environmental Science, School of Organic, Earth and Environmental Science, UCC).
